My world always seems to be in motion, which is a fabulous thing, but it makes answering simple questions a chore. People keep asking me, “What’s new? What’ve you been up to?” and I never really know where to start. So, since I tend to enjoy things that are a little “different,” I thought I’d share a little digital essay I pulled together this afternoon. You’ll get the gist of what I’ve been up to.
If you are up for new forms of “writing,” why not consider an online course through Creative Nonfiction? This summer, I took their 5-week course, “Digital Storytelling.” (Otherwise, the material you just watched wouldn’t exist!)
The Blur
Several important events happened this summer:
- I taught a lesson on blogging and realized I need to rethink my purpose, audience and commitment.
- Learning how to create digital essays opened up a whole new horizon for me. I’m excited about this.
- I attended the Festival of Words in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan July 19-21 and shared a glass of wine with Lorna Crozier (from my home town and the whole reason I knew I could become a writer when I grew up).
4. I went camping in a pasture and thought about my future and how it really needs to include a daily pastoral view…
What’s the Plan?
Well, I do plan to start blogging regularly again, but am going to make it a monthly rather than weekly. I’m learning how not to be an “all-or-nothing” kind of person. I guess we’ll soon find out how successful I am!
In the meantime, check out my last two blog posts:
Annnnndddddd, also, check out my latest publication, “Monkey Wrench” It just came out today with Atlas and Alice.
What have you been up to? I’d love to hear!
